Posterous - the best blog for beginners?

Through Michele Martin's blog I found out about http://www.posterous.com a few weeks ago. This has to be the easiest multimedia blog ever invented! You write your post in your email and send it it [e-mail] and if you want to add pictures, sound files, video or even a Powerpoint presentation then you just add them as attachments to the email. I can't imagine anything simpler. I have tried it out at http://foxdenuk.posterous.com and am quite pleased with the results.

The bottom of my powerpoint slides got cut off and the pages are a bit squashed together but apart from that I think it works well. For the perfectionists there is always the possibility of going to the website and editing the post to make it look a little better. For me adding pictures easily is a great bonus as I have struggled many hours with adding pictures in Wordpress, Elgg and Easyblog.

Advantages
1. It's free (up to 1 Gb)
2. It's easy (just write an email and add attachments)
3. It enables embedding the most common multimedia

Disadvantages
1. It's only in English
2. There are no access controls so every post is public
3. There are not many opportunities to adjust the page appearance and add widgets such as blogrolls.

Conclusion: I definitely see this as a blog service to recommend in the VITAE course.
