About Me:
VITAE project manager

I am very much looking forward to working with you on this project. It builds on two projects I have recently been involved with. First is the social fund project, Experience based learning where we go out to institutions to offer training and support for teaching which involves students in educationally enriching experiences. Secondly is the VOCA2 project in which we developed a mentor training course for people wishing to help disabled adults settle into their employment.

Fun and Games in professional development

Game-based learning (GBL) is being implemented more and more as a central approach rather than an optional add-on. See for example the new Quest2Learn high school opening in the fall in New York. GBL also has an illustrious history in professional spheres such as the army, business, aviation and the medical world. If GBL is effective for learners then why not in our professional development? In this session I invite you to try out three professi… Continue

My first steps in Second Life

The next MUVEnation task is as follows:
Please share here your stories about your first hours of life in Second Life. Reflect on your experience: How would you describe your first steps? What were the technical issues, if any? What did you feel about the avatar you chose? What was orientation island like? Could you find help as needed? Where did you go? Did you speak to other avatars? What would improve the experience, if anything? What previous knowledge and… Continue

So what is informal learning then?

MUVENation

I am your friend. I don’t work in education. You are talking to me about the idea that we all learn from each other, in all kinds of contexts, and that this can often be richer than more formal classroom based learning. I am sceptical. Tell me about an informal learning experience you have had online in which collaboration was involved, show me a concrete example to help me to see what you mea

Hej Anne,
