What is a VITAE course?
A VITAE course is one in which the following apply:
1. The 16 learning outcomes are met (or at least facilitated). These are attached to this message.
2. The participants in the course have a mentor to help them through the implementation phase of their teaching ideas.
3. Participants use the VITAE lesson template as a guide to designing their activities, especially the sections on including higher order thinking skills, setting engaging tasks and implermenting differentiation.
A VITAE course does NOT have to
1. Include a prescribed set of tools such as podcasting, blogging and wikis.
2. Use the exact tasks included in the course template.

Digital Divide in Education
The EXTEND project, funded by JISC-EMERGE Benefits and Realisation, will be holding a series of online asynchronous discussions based around Learning Technologies. Working together online, remotely
Hi everybody!
Today, Cristina, Anne, Torhild, Judita and myself spent an hour exploring this NING, whilst talking to one another via a Skype conference call. We discussed ways of using the NING, how to use RSS feeds to keep up-to-date with any changes, and the importance of friending others within the community. It was interesting, as we could compare notes on the platform - for instance, I found that I couldn't edit the box for RSS feeds within my profile. I asked the others if they had the sam… Continue
