Fun and Games in professional development
Game-based learning (GBL) is being implemented more and more as a central approach rather than an optional add-on. See for example the new Quest2Learn high school opening in the fall in New York. GBL also has an illustrious history in professional spheres such as the army, business, aviation and the medical world. If GBL is effective for learners then why not in our professional development? In this session I invite you to try out three professi…

I am your friend. I don’t work in education. You are talking to me about the idea that we all learn from each other, in all kinds of contexts, and that this can often be richer than more formal classroom based learning. I am sceptical. Tell me about an informal learning experience you have had online in which collaboration was involved, show me a concrete example to help me to see what you mea

The blog function in Ning is ideal as a way of introducing participants to blogs outside of the locked Moodle course but I think that our participants will feel safer if their blog postings have a restricted readership at l…

Classroom 2.0 have 11,000 members and are very active. Keeping up with what is going on here has been my main w…

On Saturday September 6th over 80 adult education teachers had given up their time to attend a teacher training conference and 17 of those attended our workshop to find out what benefits integrating ICT into their teaching might bring them. The majority were language teachers but there were also teachers of maths, IT and tango. We were guests of Siegburg
Volkshochschule at their annual teacher conference where we were meant…

The strategy of the Technical School is to tackle this within an overall theme which links in with the Danish and soc…
